Definition and practical information
Notice to Competitors

Car Park
Competitors may use the main car park and an overflow car park is available. The Scottish Golf Union and Elgin Golf Club cannot accept responsibility for any damage to cars.

Catering
Coffee and morning rolls will be available from 6.30am. Snacks and lunch will be available later in the day. Evening meals will also be available. It is requested that any players or their guests wishing dinner in the clubhouse pre book in advance, directly with the club.

Wednesday 21 May – Last Orders 9pm

All catering will be at competitors own expense.

Clubhouse
The clubhouse will be open at 6.30am on Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 and at 7.00am on Thursday 22 May. Competitors, their families and guests are permitted the use of the clubhouse facilities.

Casual wear is acceptable but must be smart. Shorts are permitted if tailored. THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED.

MOBILE PHONES ARE PROHIBITED IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND COURSE.

Changing facilities and showers are available in the Visitors Locker Room, towels will be provided by the club at a cost of 50p.

Trolleys and Yardage Books
Trolleys are available for hire and yardage books available for purchase from the Club Shop. These will be issued on a first come first served basis.

Course and Play
Competitors will play one round on Tuesday 20 and one round on Wednesday 21 May. The top 40 qualifiers and those tying on 40 place will play one final round on Thursday 22 May. The draw for Thursday will be made as soon as possible after close of play on Wednesday.

Competitors must report to the Championship Office at least 30 minutes prior to their starting time. Starting times are shown in the official draw sheet.

Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions, pace of play guidelines when registering at the Championship Office.

COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY. Competitors are reminded that late arrival at the first tee will result in disqualification as no provision is made under Rule 6-3.

Insurance
Your entry fee includes cover in respect of legal liability in the event of them causing injury to another person or damage to a third party property. An excess of £15 will apply.

Practice
Elgin GC has kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round on Monday 19 May. All bookings for practice times must be made in advance by telephoning Elgin GC on (01343) 542884. Practice out with Monday 19 May is at the discretion of the club.

General Practice Conditions
Competitors must report to the Professional shop prior to starting their round. Other than in accordance with the Rules of Golf, a competitor in a practice round must not have more than one ball in play.

Practice Facilities
The Club have a chipping green and putting green adjacent to the clubhouse and a Driving Range opposite the clubhouse. Tokens for the range can be purchased from the pro shop. £1 coins are also accepted.

Presentation
The Championship trophy and medals will be presented at the close of play on Thursday 22 May. All medal winners are expected to be present.

Responsibility
Elgin GC and the Scottish Golf Union cannot accept responsibility for players’ property.

Directions
Elgin is easily reached by road, rail and air. If you are you are travelling by road, follow the A9 north of Perth, and turn right onto the A95 after passing Aviemore.This will take you through the Spey Valley, through Aberlour and Craigellachie follow the A941 and onto Rothes before you reach Elgin.
Alternatively, from Inverness or Aberdeen, follow the A96, which passes through Elgin. Inverness Airport is only forty minutes drive away.
The golf course is the north side of the town beyond Birnie Road.
